LINDEN — Four brothers from South America have opened another location in this Union County town.

Linden Sports Bar & Restaurant is now open and located at 700 E. Elizabeth Ave, in the former location of Tapas Bar & Grill.

“The newly renovated venue features an exciting menu and large sports screens throughout the restaurant, allowing customers to participate in events as a shared experience,” said Linden Mayor Derek Armstead, who was on hand for the bar’s ribbon-cutting ceremony in early September.

The menu includes Italian and Spanish dishes.

The family business is run by the Jerez brothers, who came to the U.S. from Ecuador in 1992. They started in a New York City pizzeria before venturing into East Brunswick in 1998.

The Jerez family also operates ParkView Tavern & Restaurant on E. Saint Georges Ave. in Linden.

“We are very happy to be able to serve the community and build memories together,” said Jorge Jerez.
