Tech Mahindra and University of Auckland join forces to pioneer AI and quantum computing research

Computing major Tech Mahindra has signed an agreement with New Zealand’s University of Auckland (UoA) to support research and innovation in artificial intelligence, machine learning and quantum computing.

According to a statement by Tech Mahindra, the partnership aims to bridge the gap between industry and academia and improve the employability of UoA graduates.

“This agreement will accelerate research and innovation in artificial intelligence, machine learning and quantum computing across various sectors, including healthcare, banking, financial services and insurance, as well as the government sector,” the statement reads.

Additionally, this collaboration will enable indigenous communities to learn about the benefits of generative AI and offer internships at Tech Mahindra, enabling candidates to learn about AI, machine learning and other emerging technologies.

“India has been at the forefront of global IT innovation for the past three decades and I believe it will continue to lead the AI revolution. This agreement allows our students to tackle real-world challenges and gain hands-on experience from Tech Mahindra’s skilled professionals,” said Partha Roop, Professor and Vice Dean for International Affairs at the UoA’s Faculty of Engineering.
